LOS ANGELES, CA. - 1 September, 2007 - Hollywood's iO Film recently used the Film Master system to conform and grade the award-winning independent film Self Medicated.

Colorist Michael Mintz worked with director and star Monty Lapica to take the look of the film well beyond the simple "best light" grade which was used for film festivals. Together with Lapica and DP Denis Maloney, Mintz created three distinct looks for the three phases of the film, concentrating the most effort on scenes that take place inside an institution. "Monty wanted those scenes to feel really gritty, barren and uncomfortable," said Mintz, who created a de-saturated, sterile palette that helped to frame the story.
