One of the bottlenecks in the digital intermediate process is editorial list transfer and management. The matching of edit
decisions to KeyKode numbers, and the transposition of KeyKode numbers, known as lineup, is one of the most tedious tasks.
KeyKode numbers, etched into the side of film, designate which parts of the film roll are to be used in the creation of
finished elements, whether opticals, visual effects, title plates, or individual shots. KeyKode numbers must remain accurate
as they represent roll, foot and frame as described by the editor. iPerf software, which iO Film developed expressly for this
task, eliminates the need for manual entering and lineup of KeyKode numbers. iPerf KeyKode lists can be appended, deleted, and
updated using most common editorial exchange formats such as ALEs, FLEX files, Avid Bins, and Cut Lists.
iPerf is fully integrated into iO Filmıs internal shot tracking and management database. This allows iO Film to track the
progress of any shot within a feature, down to the individual frame, in real time as it progresses through the digital
intermediate pipeline. The database is also used to automatically generate individual project files for each of the tasks,
including scanning, dust-busting, conforming, color correction, visual effects, titles, opticals, and output.
