iO Film offers a 4k scan for a 2K workflow, 10-bit logarithmic Digital Intermediate (DI). For this process, iO Film scans the entire feature and produces a digital representation of the film. This digital representation encompasses a color range and resolution capable of holding all the information available on film. The high color and spatial resolution give iO Film significantly superior range when compared with traditional telecine or HDTV-originated footage. iO Film's proprietary color management system insures that color fidelity remains consistent and true from scan to record. Moreover, by incorporating real-time feedback on color and timing decisions, iO Film's clients enjoy a creative freedom unattainable with a traditional analog film finish.

iO Film maintains the highest quality by creating a first generation digital negative, absent the dirt and generational losses associated with other finishing services. iO Film is also able to streamline the completion of the online conform, digital opticals, title setting, and final color correction by simultaneously finishing these tasks.

Additionally, all finishing is completed under one roof, eliminating the need to shuttle valuable film negative between different facilities. Titles, opticals, and even visual effects can all be completed at iO Film, and can be immediately viewed in a theater via digital projection.

iO Film provides DI services to projects that have shot on either digital cameras, 35mm, 16mm, High Definition, or Standard Definition video.
