Color Correction
During color timing, iO Film color corrects each shot so it has the desired look and overall balance. Throughout this process,
iO Film offers significant control over color adjustments, such as contrast, saturation, and the ability to adjust individual
elements of a shot. Most importantly, clients enjoy real-time feedback to their creative decisions while working at the native
resolution of their imagery.
All color correction is performed in a theater suite at iO Film. The interface is a Nucoda Filmmaster system, which allows for
multiple layers of color correction on individual shots, targeted color correction, real-time feedback on creative choices,
and real-time 2K playback.
The DI suite also features a Barco 2K digital projector, which is commonly used in theaters offering digital projection. By
using this projector, clients are able to accurately view how their film will look when projected on film, before it is ever
recorded onto film.
The backbone of the iO Film color correction system is proprietary image processing software called QuickComp. This highly
sophisticated software ensures color accuracy throughout the DI process, and allows both the digital negative and the HD
masters of the finished film to look exactly how the client and colorist intended.
