Conform

Once the picture elements have been scanned or brought into the iO Film system, the elements are conformed into an edited sequence, similar to an online or negative cutting session. Key to this process is the iPerf database, which performs an almost automated assembly of the film. All optical effects can be created at this time, including fades, dissolves, split-screens, motion effects and speed ramps. Titles are also positioned, and VFX elements are incorporated.

If changes are made in editorial after the picture has locked, the iPerf database can help track these changes and ensure that the proper picture changes are made in the DI.
